The short answer: yes, and many people in studios and shared rentals do. But it only works if you choose for sleeping, not just for sitting. The three things that decide it are the comfort layer (natural latex beats foam alone for nightly use), the sleeping width (about 100 cm for one, 150 cm for two), and whether you add a topper. If you sleep on it every night and have back problems, a real bed is the better call.
What Makes a Sofa Bed Comfortable for Daily Sleep

The comfort layer. The seat cushion becomes your mattress. Natural latex tends to hold its shape and spread pressure well night after night; foam-only seats are fine for guests but generally show wear sooner with daily use. In our range, the Sally, Sandy and Patricia layer natural latex over high-density foam; the Jenny uses high-density foam.
The sleeping width. Outer width includes the arms. For one adult, aim for about 100 cm of sleeping area; for two, about 150 cm, a queen mattress's width. The size guide lists what each model offers.
A flat surface. Seams and gaps between cushions are what you feel at 3 a.m. If it's for daily use, lie down on it before you buy: visit our experience centre, and WhatsApp us first to check which models are on the floor.
The Topper Trick
For nightly use, a 5–8 cm topper on the open bed makes the biggest difference for the least money. It smooths out seams, adds a sleeping layer the sofa doesn't have to double as, and protects the upholstery. Roll it and store it in a cupboard by day.

Daily-Use Habits That Make It Last
Open and close it gently and keep the mechanism clear of dust and objects. Forcing it is an easy way to damage folding parts.
Don't stand or sit heavily on the edge of the open bed.
Air it. In Malaysian humidity, leave the bed open for a while in the morning before folding it, so moisture from the night can escape. It's the same reason we don't recommend a mattress straight on the floor.
Use a fitted sheet, not just a flat one, so the fabric isn't rubbed every night.
When a Real Bed Is the Better Choice

You have ongoing back or neck pain. A sofa bed isn't designed to be a medical-grade sleep surface. Start with our mattress for back pain guide, and see a doctor or physiotherapist if pain persists.
Two adults, every night, long term. A queen bed is more comfortable for both of you over months and years.
You have the room. If a bed fits, a sofa bed's trade-offs aren't worth making for nightly use.
