Shape guide. The table shape determines how the room reads and how conversation flows:

• Rectangular — the default Malaysian choice. Fits narrow dining rooms, pairs well with a bench on one side, and scales cleanly from 4-seater through to 8-seater without changing visual proportions.
• Round — best for smaller rooms and intimate dining. A 1,200mm round seats 4 comfortably, and a 1,350mm round seats 6. No head of the table means conversation flows evenly — ideal for family dinners and smaller hosted meals.
• Oval — a compromise between rectangular and round. Seats more than a round of equivalent width while softening the room's geometry. Good for transitional dining areas at the edge of an open-plan living room.
