Chair materials and what they suit.

Sizing guide. Malaysian dining tables sit at 750mm height, so chair seat heights of 450–470mm give the standard 280–300mm of knee clearance. Plan 600mm of table edge per diner along the long side. Chair seat width of 450–480mm is the comfortable minimum; narrower chairs feel cramped over a full meal. Leave 700mm of clearance behind each chair so people can pull back and stand without hitting a wall.
