Bed Frames Malaysia

Bed frames set the height, storage and style foundation for every Malaysian bedroom. The frame decides whether the mattress sits at a comfortable seat-on edge height, whether the room offers under-bed storage, and whether the headboard becomes a design anchor or stays understated. FRWD stocks every Malaysian standard bed frame size across upholstered, wooden and metal-frame designs, delivered and assembled for Free across KL, PJ, Subang Jaya, Cheras and Ampang on orders above RM 2,000.

Bed frame sizes in Malaysia. Plan by the mattress size you already own or intend to buy — the frame and mattress must match exactly:

  • Single — 91 × 191 cm, fits kids' rooms, guest rooms and small second bedrooms.

  • Super Single — 107 × 191 cm, the middle ground for a single adult who wants more space; popular for teen rooms and studio apartments.

  • Queen — 150-152 × 191 cm, the default choice for main bedrooms in most Malaysian condos and apartments.

  • King — 180-183 × 191 cm, for master bedrooms with at least 3.5m of wall length for the bed and 500mm clearance on each side.

Frame materials and what they suit. Upholstered frames — fabric, bouclé or leather/PU headboards — bring warmth and softness to a bedroom and double as reading support; ideal for main bedrooms. Wooden bed frames age well, handle Malaysian humidity with proper finishing, and carry heavier mattresses without flex. Modern bed frame designs lean toward platform (low-profile, no box spring) — they dominate the current market and pair with latex, foam and hybrid mattresses directly on the slats. Metal-frame designs keep the footprint visually light and fit modern or minimalist bedrooms. Looking for the frame only, without a mattress bundle? All FRWD bed frames are available frame-only. If you need a mattress too, browse our mattress collection to pair the right depth with your chosen frame.

Divan vs Platform. A platform frame sits low on slats — no box spring, clean lines, direct mattress support. A divan is a fully-upholstered base, usually with built-in drawer or gas-lift storage and a softer look. FRWD's range is platform-led for modern bedrooms. If you are comparing the two, the key difference is the base: a platform frame lets the mattress breathe on open slats, while a divan encloses it in an upholstered box that adds height and a softer profile.

Mattress compatibility and slat spacing. FRWD bed frames use slats at 70–80 mm spacing, which supports latex, memory foam and hybrid mattresses without a separate foundation or box spring. Thicker mattresses (250 mm / 10" is the Malaysian norm) sit well on these frames and reach a comfortable edge-sit height of 550–600 mm. If you are pairing a new frame with an existing mattress, confirm the mattress depth so the frame sides do not swallow the mattress visually, and check the frame's maximum weight rating against the mattress plus intended occupants.

Storage planning. Platform frames with integrated storage drawers give 100–120 litres of under-bed storage per drawer — useful in Malaysian condos where wardrobe space is tight. Frames with gas-lift or hydraulic storage lift the entire base on a piston mechanism, giving access to a single large compartment underneath — better for bulky items like bedding sets or suitcases. If under-bed storage is not a priority, a clean-line platform frame reads visually lighter and makes the bedroom feel larger. Upholstered frames rarely offer storage but add the comfort of a padded headboard for reading in bed.

Bed frame prices in Malaysia. FRWD bed frames range from RM2,499 (Finley king) to RM5,499 (Stephanie king). Most king frames sit at RM2,700–RM3,400; upholstered and storage frames carry a slight premium over clean-line platform designs. All frames qualify for 0% Atome and grabpaylater installments from approximately RM208/month, is available at checkout.

Delivery and assembly. Every FRWD bed frame are applicable for Free delivery across KL, PJ, Subang Jaya, Cheras and Ampang on orders above RM 2,000. A king or queen frame is wider than any single door once assembled: it ships in multiple packed pieces and assembles in-room, so confirm your lift clearance, corridor width and bedroom door width before ordering. 0% Atome and grabpaylater installment plans are available at checkout. Frequently Asked Questions

1.

What size bed frame fits a standard Malaysian queen mattress?

A Malaysian queen mattress is 150–152 cm × 190 cm depending on brand (The Sommni Queen: 150 × 190 cm). Pair it with a queen bed frame sized to exactly that mattress spec. Don't mix a US or UK queen frame with a Malaysian queen mattress — the dimensions differ and the gap will be visible.
2.

Do FRWD bed frames need a box spring?

No. FRWD platform bed frames use slats at 70–80mm spacing and support latex, memory foam and hybrid mattresses directly. A box spring adds unnecessary height and doesn't improve support on a modern slat frame.
3.

Upholstered, wooden or metal bed frame for Malaysian humidity?

All three work if properly specified. Wooden frames need a sealed or lacquered finish; raw unfinished wood swells and cracks with humidity swings. Upholstered frames benefit from 100mm of breathing room between the headboard and the exterior wall to prevent condensation-driven mildew. Metal frames are the most humidity-tolerant and need no special care.
4.

How much room do I need around a king bed frame?

A king bed frame (fits 180–183 cm × 190 cm mattresses) needs a bedroom at least 3.5m wide to keep 500–600mm of walkway clear on each side. On the length, allow at least 191cm plus clearance at the foot — most master bedrooms in Malaysian condos suit a king frame with 600mm at the foot toward a wardrobe or TV unit. If your room is narrower than 3.5m, FRWD queen bed frames fit mattresses 150–152 cm wide × 190 cm long (varies by supplier — see each product page) keeps both side walkways at a comfortable 500mm minimum.

5.

Is bed frame assembly included in delivery?

Yes — for orders above RM2,000 in the Klang Valley, the delivery team assembles the frame in your bedroom at no charge. Other areas: see our delivery policy. As for installation is unavailable in some non-city and East Malaysia areas.

6.

Divan or platform bed frame — which is better?

A platform frame sits low on open slats with no box spring — clean lines, direct mattress support, and optional under-drawer storage. A divan is a fully-upholstered base that encloses the mattress in a padded box, usually with built-in drawer or gas-lift storage and a softer, taller profile. FRWD's range is platform-led. Platform frames suit modern and minimalist bedrooms and pair directly with latex, foam or hybrid mattresses. Divans tend to suit traditional or plush bedroom styles where a higher, softer base is preferred.
7.

Do you sell the frame only, or does it come with a mattress?

All FRWD bed frames are sold frame-only — the mattress is not included. This lets you pair the frame with any mattress brand or thickness you prefer. If you need a mattress too, browse our mattress collection to find the right size and depth for your chosen frame. FRWD bed frames use slats at 70–80mm spacing, which suits latex, memory foam and hybrid mattresses without a separate foundation.
8.

Can I get a leather or PU headboard bed frame?

Yes. Several FRWD bed frames feature leather or PU-upholstered headboards alongside fabric and bouclé options. Leather and PU headboards are easy to wipe clean — a practical choice for Malaysian humidity — and give the bedroom a more structured, contemporary look compared to soft fabric finishes. Filter by material or check the individual product page to confirm the headboard material for each frame.
