Size the bed frame to the mattress, not to the room. Malaysian standard mattress sizes are single (91 × 191 cm), super single (107 × 191 cm), queen (152 × 191 cm), and king (183 × 191 cm). The frame size should match exactly — a queen mattress on a king frame leaves visible gaps, and the reverse doesn't fit at all. Pick the mattress thickness next; 250mm (10") is the most common in Malaysian bedrooms, and the frame's internal depth should leave the mattress sitting at a comfortable seat-on edge height of around 550–600mm. Check the frame's slat spacing — most FRWD frames use slats at 70–80mm spacing, which supports latex and hybrid mattresses without a separate box spring.

Leave 700mm in front of the wardrobe for door clearance. If the room is under 3m wide, keep the bed frame simple (platform or low-profile) and skip the dressing table — the floor space usually serves a dresser-and-mirror combination better than a seated vanity. In rooms wider than 3.2m, a dressing table against the window-adjacent wall works as a natural morning station.
